Lead and CRT

Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD)

BCRI works directly with the Baltimore Police Department in the LEAD program as an innovative way to address the opioid crisis.  LEAD gives individuals with low level drug and prostitution offenses an option to avoid entering into the criminal justice system. Instead, they are connected to BCRI case management and peer support services. This harm reduction framework helps decrease recidivism and increase referrals to healthcare. 

Crisis Response Team (CRT)

BCRI works directly with the Baltimore Police Department in the CRT program.  This program pairs police officers with a BCRI licensed social worker to jointly respond to emergencies with individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis.  Officers receive the training and support they need to safely engage with these individuals, improving safety outcomes for both officers and civilians.
