For over half my life I’ve suffered from addiction and mental health issues. I’m what you'd call a dual diagnosis. I am bipolar and was often suicidal. I scored drugs on the streets of Baltimore and when I finally thought I beat heroin, I found crack. I visited city hospital emergency rooms at least 5 times a year. It was tough to stay on my psych meds when I couldn’t find a way to get them. It was a circle of “I’m good when I’m on my meds and stoned when I’m not.” Finally someone referred me to BCRI. The peer support and shared stories let me know that I'm not the only one suffering. BCRI's hands on staff help me stay in care and keep me honest. BCRI has me on the path to a better life. Join my story and help others find this path.
